Dead Weight Finder

Scans the whole Set for clutter and shows a categorized report. You pick which categories to delete; nothing is removed until you confirm.

Right-click any audio or MIDI track and choose Dead Weight Finder: Scan Set.

Categories

  • Tracks with no clips and no devices
  • Muted tracks with all clips empty
  • Return tracks with no incoming sends (checked across every track's mixer sends)
  • Disabled/off devices — listed but always empty, see below
  • Zero-length clips (arrangement and session)
  • Empty scenes (every track's clip slot at that scene index is empty)

Known limitation: disabled devices can't be detected

This SDK version's Device class exposes no enabled/on/active property of any kind — confirmed absent from the bundled type definitions, not just undocumented. There is currently no way to tell whether a device is switched off, so that category always reports zero and is shown disabled in the review dialog rather than silently dropped. Revisit if a future SDK release adds this.

Run in dev mode

npm start -- --live "/Applications/Ableton Live 12.4 Beta.app"
