Browse the directory inside Live

The ABLX Directory ships as an extension of its own. Right-click any track, choose “Browse ABLX Directory…”, and search every catalogued extension — see downloads and ratings, then download an .ablx without leaving Live.

Requires Ableton Live 12.4.5 Suite (beta) or newer.

Install

  1. Download the .ablx above.
  2. In Live, open Preferences → Extensions → Install Extension and choose the file (or drag the .ablx onto that page).
  3. Restart Live.
  4. Right-click any audio or MIDI track → “Browse ABLX Directory…”.

What it does

Search & filter

Find extensions by name, category, rating and downloads — inside a Live dialog.

Always current

Fetches the live registry when online, falls back to a bundled snapshot offline.

Direct downloads

Grabs the developer's official GitHub release .ablx into your Downloads folder.

Honest scope

Live's Extensions SDK has no install API — you still confirm each install in Preferences → Extensions.

What it talks to

The extension fetches exactly one thing: /api/v1/registry.min.json — a CC0, cached, ~10 KB list of installable extensions. Downloads come straight from each project’s own GitHub release URL. No account, no telemetry. The source lives in the site’s repository alongside the directory itself.
